Meet Ari
BSc| MACP | RP
Hi, I’m Arshiya (Ari), a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I work with youth and adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or trying to make sense of difficult experiences such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, cultural identity challenges, or major life transitions.
My Background
My interest in mental health began with a genuine curiosity about how our minds work and how people navigate difficult experiences. I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and my undergraduate studies in Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Toronto. Early in my career, I worked in behavioural therapy with children, youth, and adults with developmental disorders, where I gained valuable experience helping individuals build practical skills and emotional resilience.
Experience Supporting Workplace Trauma
In addition to my private practice, I have extensive experience supporting individuals navigating psychological injuries related to workplace trauma through workplace injury and recovery programs. This work has allowed me to support clients facing high levels of stress, sudden life changes, and the emotional impact that injuries can have on identity, work, and daily life.
Culturally Aware Care
Growing up in a South Asian immigrant family, I understand how complicated conversations about mental health can sometimes be. In many communities, these topics can feel uncomfortable or even taboo. Because of this, I’m especially passionate about creating a space where you feel understood and don’t have to spend time explaining the cultural nuances that shape your experiences.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to you. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and narrative therapy, while integrating culturally responsive perspectives along the way. My goal is to help you better understand your patterns, develop practical tools, and feel more grounded as you navigate life.
Vision for Ari Therapy
As Ari Therapy continues to grow, my goal is to build a practice grounded in empathy, cultural awareness, and genuine human connection—where clients can access thoughtful care that respects their individual experiences.
Outside the Therapy Room
Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, and finding small moments to recharge. I believe that balance, connection, and curiosity are just as important in our personal lives as they are in the work we do in therapy.
